Synology Surveillance Station Cost
One camera license is pre-installed by default on each Synology DiskStation. FEATURES: 1 license key with a single code to add 4 additional camera licenses to the Synology Surveillance Station service on your Synology NAS. The flexibility of Surveillance Station lets you use practically any Synology NAS and hundreds of different IP-based cameras, so you aren't tied to this combination at all. IP cameras compatible with Surveillance Station (self.synology) submitted 6 months ago by Grenne I'm trying to narrow down the search for an indoor IP camera for use with Synology Surveillance Station. If you want to 'roll your own' surveillance on spare hardware for the least cost, you could try BI. Ftir software download. Personally, I decided on SS on Synology hardware, and camera licenses are just part of the overall cost.
When I started building my camera network recently, I felt the same way about paying for camera licenses. So I bought Blue Iris. Inexpensive, no camera licenses required. BI is a very good product. I had no complaints about it. But I needed to buy/build a second PC in order to install more than a few cameras.
Black eyed peas someday knight and day free mp3 download. Not enough spare CPU capacity on my primary desktop. Turns out it was cheaper to buy additional Synology camera licenses than it was to acquire another PC, not to mention that I already had the NAS and didn't want to manage yet another device. Driver side deployment loop open.
I don't think SS is quite as flexible as BI, but having the camera software and the NAS software on the same box is worth a lot to me. If camera license cost is the #1#1 issue for you, try Blue Iris. As for me, I uninstalled BI and I'm only using SS.

I concluded that the camera license cost was like paying for ongoing support. I did buy four additional camera licenses from newegg.com for $47.50 ea. This wasn't a four pack. It was a quantity discount on individual licenses. To get a better price I needed to buy six or more, which I wasn't ready to do. The pre-packaged bundles were more expensive for less than quantity eight And as for using multiple DS115j devices which each come with two free camera licenses, the cheapest price for a DS115j I could find (from a reputable dealer) here in the US was slightly more than the cost of two additional camera licenses, assuming you already have the HD. If you want to 'roll your own' surveillance on spare hardware for the least cost, you could try BI.
