I confess, I just give away everything I make and bootleg the few things I want.

I see it as karma. Also, I'm desperately poor. And shameless. And last time I bought a game I came within an inch of having to reformat my computer thanks to Securom disabling every hard drive I had.

So you can kind of see why I don't feel bad about wearing the eyepatch. Last time we did things their way they tried to destroy my computer. That is what we in the Technocracy refer to as Unmutual. (Note: This post reflects the political views of the poster and does not reflect the views of Eka's Portal or anybody else for that matter) Though I might throw some dough this fella's way if it turns out to be good (as in, better than the stuff I've handed out for free). His asking price ain't bad. Out of all the boards I go to, this one is the most hostile to piracy. Yet most of the game development boards I go to are loaded with wanton, unabashed pirates.

As are the other writing/art forums I go to. And pretty much every other forum. (Granted, the forums I go to are full of the more fringe indies.the ones who are indies because they are angry at the world or think other game developers couldn't design their way out of a paper bag.

I think I'm mostly in the latter category.) Yet this forum has an 'underage' section, which would get somebody burned at the stake on half of those other forums. (Not by me, but still.) Hell, I'd get some seriously weird looks if anybody on the game dev forums knew that I was responsible for the infamous Duamutef's Glorious Vore RPG (as featured on somethingawful.com!) I like to think I'm socially entrenched enough that I wouldn't get any real flak for it, but there would be many a quiet WTF floating about. I'm not trying to make a point here or anything. It just seems funny to me. I wonder if Something Awful is ever going to notice Cartovore 2.while I love attention (even their kind), it would make deploying Cartomancer as a non-vore game considerably harder. But now I'm just rambling.

If you have the means, sure, buy it. If you don't, well.I don't know about this guy's experience in the barren and frigid wasteland of indie game development, but the games I've published for money (which do not include any of my vore games, or any video games for that matter--I only charge for physical media) have made fourteen fabulous flavors of dick, so disappointment is kind of inevitable on his end.though I will also say that once your standards are lowered to that degree it becomes a kick every time somebody does buy it. Indie games really are something where you have to make the decision hard and fast: For love or for money.

If you want money, make puzzle games for housewives. If you want to make games that you actually like, don't expect to get paid. Part of this is justifiable.a lot of indie games really aren't up to scratch.

Including mine, to some extent. Sure, I see them as having some potent strengths--otherwise I wouldn't make them--but they've got some serious deficiencies too. (Being buggier than a caribou's corpse, for one thing.) I build them with my gameplay priorities in mind. This is, in a sense, selfishness as a developer.I figure the more stuff I incorporate solely for the sake of other people, the more excuse I might have to charge for it. So far none of my vore games have crossed that threshold, nor have their production values reached an appropriate level to charge dough. The problems with games like this is you really can't tell if they're horse-dookie until after you've played them.He has a demo, but are the three enemies in the demo the only ones you ever see.?
